As you already know, DeepHeartOfFrance.com is a non-commercial website. I write these posts and maintain the site out of love for a particular part of France and a deep personal connection to the region, and have never accepted ads or used affiliate links to sell products on the blog.
That hasn’t changed, and I don’t expect it will in the future. But I know from your emails and comments that many of you harbor the desire (secret or otherwise) to find a place of your own somewhere in central France.
I recently started an ongoing exchange with Patrick Joseph, the Managing Director of My-French-House.com. His site is a rich resource for anyone considering the purchase or lease of their own corner in the central and southwestern parts of the country.
In addition to a large searchable database of available properties, Patrick provides analyses of market trends, tips about renovation planning, real-life stories from people who’ve made the move, and advice on issues related to insurance, taxes, and currency exchange.
On top of all that, My-French-House.com features its own blog, a rich resource of information about the places and culture of central and southwestern France. It’s been developed over more than 20 years and includes work by other bloggers with expertise in these regions of the country. I’ll be adding my own articles to that collection from time to time in the months ahead, and I commend both the blog and the property-search functions of the site to your consideration.
I want to emphasize that this is not in any way a commercial endorsement. I receive no compensation at all for making this recommendation – just the opportunity to exchange with like-minded writers on a subject that’s dear to all of us, and to let all of you know about ways you might translate your dreams of living in France into reality.
Please give Patrick’s site a try and let me know what you think.
Cordialement.
Richard.
